SERVICES
I would be:
- delighted to install a brand new system for you.
- happy to repair existing systems or add to or modify them.
I can also:
- carry out work in front or back gardens, or both.
- deal with light commercial situations.
LOCATIONS
I mainly cover Kent, Surrey and South London.
ASSESSMENT VISIT
Prior to any work, an assessment visit can be carried out.
But it often isn’t needed because a phone call followed by an email with photos will usually be enough.
MILEAGE
There's no charge for mileage when carrying out an assessment visit or when installing a totally new system.
For repairs or for adding to or modifying an existing system, there is a charge of 50p per mile each way from postcode BR6 7EN, along with (a) a £20 call out charge, and (b) the parts and labour prices detailed below.
PARTS PRICES
I charge for parts at less than the retail price of my supplier.
Parts for:
- a small back garden system would usually come to around £200
- a medium back garden would usually be around £300
- a large back garden would usually start at around £400
It all depends on the size and complexity of the garden, the lengths and sizes of pipe needed, and the options you choose.
LABOUR PRICES
I charge £35 per hour for labour. And I'll time myself. So you won't be paying for any breaks I take.
ESTIMATES
I can provide a verbal or written estimate. It really would be an estimate. Because you never quite know exactly what parts will be used and how many hours a project will take until you actually do it.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
A small back garden is usually do-able in one day, in about 6 or 7 active hours. A medium garden can take a day if it’s very straight forward, or two if it’s more complex. Large gardens are highly variable, often requiring multiple 'zones' of irrigation.
For all gardens, layouts and personal requirements vary widely, and some gardens will be quicker than others.
A GOOD HONEST JOB
I believe in doing a good and lasting job and working hard. So you can be sure you'll get value and a decent standard of work out of me. I'm an honest guy and I always charge fairly.
WARRANTY
There is a 1 year warranty on everything I install. If something is not right, and it's my doing or oversight, I will put it right quickly and for free.
This warranty excludes damage by people, domestic animals, wild animals or 'acts of God'.
WINTER / SPRING
It is vital that a tap-timer based irrigation is decommissioned before the year's first frost. That's because a frozen tap timer is almost certain to be faulty when fired up the following year. Therefore it needs to be removed in mid October or so, and kept in the house (not a shed or garage) until there is no chance of frost - perhaps late April. I can do this for you each year, or show you how to do it.
